FULLERTON, Calif. – A UC Riverside golden goal off of a penalty kick in the 92nd minute stunned the Titans as they dropped their Senior Night match at Titan Stadium on Saturday night.

The Titans (9-7-1, 4-3-1) allowed two goals within the last two minutes of the match to lose their second straight game and their third at home.

Sophomore Diego Sanchez scored the lone goal of the game in the 53rd minute off of a nice bounce that he managed to get past the UCR keeper Ashkan Khosravi to put the Titans ahead 1-0.

After freshman Ronaldo Pineda drew a red card in the 89th minute, leaving the Titans on the field now a man short, the Highlanders tied the game up with 10 seconds left off of a header from Stephen Copley.

Within a minute and a half of the first overtime period, freshman Carlos Troncoso also drew a red card with a foul inside the box, giving UCR a penalty kick. The Highlanders' Tyler Miguel took the PK for UCR and shot it past Titan goalkeeper David Rodriguez Elias to upset the Titans.

The game drew a total of 24 fouls, eight yellow cards, and three red cards throughout the match. The Titans outshot the Highlanders 11-6 while each goalkeeper posted one save.

The Titans celebrated four seniors playing their last regular season matches at Titan Stadium tonight in Dyllan Stevens, Nigel Patterson, Colin Okirie and Julian Okai.

Cal State Fullerton remains in first place of the South Division with 13 points and have two Big West Conference match ups left.

The Titans will hit the road for the final two contests next week, beginning with UC Irvine on Wednesday night at 7 p.m. before re-matching UC Riverside next Saturday night at 7 p.m.
