SANTA BARBARA, Calif. – A golden goal from Big West goal leader Nick DePuy in the 103rd minute stunned the Titans as they dropped their first conference match to No. 15 UC Santa Barbara at Meredith Field on Saturday night.

The Titan (7-5-1, 2-1-1 BWC) defense shut down the top Big West offense in the Gauchos by holding them to only 10 shots to Fullerton's 13 while midfielder Julian Okai scored his first goal of the season in the 77th minute.

The Titan offense started the game off strong outshooting the Gauchos five to three while placing two of their shots on goal. Fullerton also drew four corners in the first half, drawing eight total throughout the match.

After a Titan dominant first half, Fullerton scored the first goal of the game in the 77th minute. On a throw in from Zach Bryan, midfielder Okai volleyed it into the net past Santa Barbara's Vom Steeg to put the Titans up 1-0.

Less than a minute later, the Gauchos answered right back with one of their own as Santa Barbara drew a penalty kick, managing to put it past Titan keeper Elias to knot the score at one.

After 90 minutes of regulation, Fullerton headed into overtime at Santa Barbara for the first time since 2010. Again, the Titans led the offensive charge taking three shots, none of them on goal while drawing one corner.

Yet after the first ten overtime minutes, the score was still knotted at one until the 103rd minute when the Gauchos gained possession of the ball. Santa Barbara took the ball down field to outside the side of the box and placed it up by the post to DePuy who headed it in over the head of keeper Elias to stun the Titans, 2-1.

After going 0-1-1 in the second weekend of Big West play, the Titans still lead the South Division with a record of 2-1-1 while holding seven points.

Fullerton is back in action on Wednesday as they head to Cal State Northridge to take on the Matadors before heading back to Titan Stadium on Saturday night to host South Division rival, UC Irvine.
