FULLERTON, Calif. – The Cal State Fullerton men's soccer team won its second Big West Conference game in a row Saturday night at Titan Stadium behind a game-winning goal by Dyllan Stevens in the 90th minute, giving the Titans the 3-2 win over visiting Cal Poly.

Fullerton looked to be headed to its sixth overtime game of the year, until a throw-in by Titan Alex Cannas was put into play.  The long throw made it to CSF's 6-foot-3 forward Nigel Patterson, out-jumping a Mustang defender and flicking it on to Stevens who slid the ball past a maze of feet into the back of the net.

CSF took a 1-0 in the 37th minute when a free kick, taken by Fermin Villalba from 40 yards out was fought for in the Cal Poly box.  Marc Fenelus ended up with the ball on his right foot, and used the opportunity to kick it hard and low to the far left post for the goal.

The Titans extended their lead to 2-0 in the 53rd minute when Fenelus sent a cross into the box that found the feet of Garrett Losee.  The senior midfielder protected the ball from his defender and found an open Amara Soumah on the right side of the box; he wasted no time and powered a shot to the far left post for the score.

The first shot of the game for the Mustangs was earned by way of a penalty kick after a foul was called on Cal State Fullerton in its own box.  Junior midfielder Chase Minter stepped up for Cal Poly and beat Fullerton keeper Jeff Salt to cut the score in half at 2-1 in the 56th minute.

Shortly after in the 61st minute, a cross from the right side by defender Jack O'Conner found Minter in the box alone against Salt, the Mustang midfielder chipped the ball over Salt's right shoulder into the high right corner of the net for his second goal of the game, equalizing the contest at 2-2.

Cal State Fullerton controlled the pace of play all night and held a 19-7 edge in shots, along with an 8-5 lead in corner kicks.

The Titans will take a break from Big West Conference action as they travel to Pacific on Monday at 3:30 p.m. at Knoles Soccer Field.
