Played in a career-high 20 matches, while he started 15 of them...was tied for fifth on the team in points (4), with a goal and two assists...scored his lone goal of the season on Sept. 2 in a 2-1 vs. UNLV...his eight shots on goal were fourth most on the team while his 25 overall shots were also fourth most.

REDSHIRT JUNIOR (2011): In 2011 he appeared in 16 matches, all as a starter… Scored a goal in a 5-1 win vs. UNLV at Cal State Northridge on Sept. 3… Had an assist on a Nick Posthuma goal vs. George Mason on Sept. 18. 

REDSHIRT SOPHOMORE (2010):  In 2010 he appeared in 17 matches, 15 as a starter... Had 3 assists (at Cal State Northridge on Oct. 13, vs. UC Riverside on Oct. 20 and at UC Irvine on Nov. 10). 

REDSHIRT FRESHMAN (2009): He was one of the impressive Titan redshirt freshmen who saw significant action in 2009... Played in 18 of 19 matches, 17 as a starter... Had one goal and 3 assists, the latter the third best on the squad... Scored against Cal Poly on Oct. 14 in a 3-2 loss... His 3 assists came in the first six matches of the season -- vs. Wisconsin-Milwaukee on Sept. 11, vs. Fairleigh-Dickinson on Sept. 13 and vs. Saint Mary's on Sept. 20... Tall, rangy athlete who also has played up front.

FRESHMAN (2008): Redshirted the season.


HIGH SCHOOL: Four-year varsity performer at Calvary Chapel High School in Santa Ana, California... Two-time first-team and twice second-team All-Orange Coast League selection... All-CIF as a senior... Team's MVP as a senior for Coach Randy Lack and twice won most valuable offensive player award... Also played baseball as a freshman... Made the honor roll.

CLUB: South Coast Bayern.

PERSONAL: Born on Jan. 19, 1990, in Santa Ana... Parents are Steve and Kathy Birt... Kinesiology major... Has two brothers (Steven and Mike) and two sisters (Jessica and Kim)... Most memorable sports thrill was playing against Manchester United in Northern Ireland for the Milk Cup...
