Tyler Torano of Loyola Marymount shot a 2-under par 70 to lead the men's individuals and Pepperdine is the team leader at 292 by 5 shots over Long Beach State after the first 18 holes Sunday of the Folino Invitational men's and women's intercollegiate golf tournaments at Industry Hills Golf Course at Pacific Palms Resort.
LMU and Sacramento State are tied for third at 298, one stroke behind the 49ers with host Fullerton fifth. Play was on the challenging Eisenhower course in brisk weather.
Pepperdine was led by Josh Anderson's one-under 71 and a pair of par 72s by Parker Page and John MacArthur.
Fullerton's top scorer was Corey Gard at 72.
The second of three rounds of 18 will be played Monday.
