Dakota Duerr shot a 4-under part 68 Tuesday as Cal State Fullerton finished 11th at the 31st Anteater Invitational Golf Tournament at Big Canyon Country Club in Newport Beach.
Duerr finished with a 54-hole total of 220 (4 over) to beat teammates Mark Anguiano (228), Corey Gard (231), Scott Rubzin (233) and Nick Ellis (240).
Arizona won the tourney with a score of 872 (8 over), four strokes better than host UC Irvine. Fullerton scored 907, trailing tenth-place Cal State Northridge by 3 strokes. Individual honors went to UCI's Bryan Harris, who defeated CSUN's Nick Delio on the first playoff hole with an eagle on the par-5, 520-yard 18th.
Fullerton's next competition is at the Southern Utah Pat Hicks Thunderbird Invitational at Sunbrook Golf Club in St. George Feb. 14-15.
