Dyer, a native of Leigh-on-Sea, England, competed for Great Britain and Ireland against the United States.

Dyer defeated reigning U.S. amatuer Champion, Tyler Strafaci, by one stroke to earn Great Britain and Ireland one point.

Later in the tournament, Dyer and Matty Lamb of Great Britain and Ireland earned the second point of the morning in a dominating victory over Strafaci and Stewart Hagestad. Dyer and Lamb's victory was the only foursome match either day to finish before the 18th hole.
