IRVINE, Calif ­– Titan Derek Castillo was named the Big West Golfer of the Month for March.  Castillo, a senior from Yorba Linda, finished in first place in the Sacramento State Invitational held on March 2-3 in Elk Grove, Calif.

Castillo posted rounds of 73-74-68 to finish with a one-under par score of 215 to win the tournament over 64 other golfers, including participants from UC Santa Barbara, UC Irvine, UC Riverside, Cal Poly and CSUN.

In addition to Castillo's first place finish, teammates Jack Dyer, Dalton Daniel and Matt Rafter had top-ten finishes to give Fullerton a runaway team win and back-to-back Sacramento State Invitational championship.  This would be the final tournament that the Titans would participate in before the season would be cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
