ERIE, Colo. – After coming off of a tournament in which he recorded his personal best finish, Dalton Daniel topped that Tuesday at the Mark Simpson Invitational where he placed fourth with a score of 4-under par 212.
Daniel moved up from tied for 23rd after shooting a 73 in round one to fourth place at the end of round two following his score of 69. Daniel then held on to his placement after shooting a 2-under par 70 in the third and final round.
The Titans as a team finished third out of 16 teams with a score of 1-over par 865. Fullerton moved up from tied for sixth after the first round, improving in each of the final two round with a 290 in round two and a 283 in round three.
Colorado finished first in their own tournament with a score of 14-under par 850 with Utah finishing second at 12-under par 852. Trevor Olkowski of Colorado and Kyler Dunkle Utah finished first individually with a score of 9-under par 207.
First year transfer Jack Dyer finished tied for 24th with a score of 3-over par 219 (74-78-67). Dyer finished the tournament off strong to move up from tied for 54th after shooting a 5-under par 67. Derek Castillo placed tied for 24th as well at 3-over par (72-72-72).
Matt Wilson placed tied for 35th after shooting a 6-over par 222 (73-71-78). Michael Sharkey earned a tied for 64th place finish with a score of 12-over par 228 (79-75-74).
Fullerton has just under a month off before returning to the links at Bill Cullum Invitational on Oct. 16 in Simi Valley, Calif. hosted by CSUN.
