Drotter Inks Two in 2016 Signing Class
FULLERTON, Calif. - Cal State Fullerton men's golf head coach Jason Drotter announced two signees to National Letters of Intent on Tuesday. High school seniors Sam Yamauchi (Davis, Calif.) and Ty Stites (Sallisaw, Okla.) will join the Titans for the 2016-17 academic year.

"Both of our recruits have the ability to play immediately and make a difference," Drotter said. "I am excited for the future of Titan golf."

Ty Stites | Fr. | Sallisaw, Okla. | Sallisaw High School
Currently a senior at Sallisaw High School in Sallisaw, Okla., Ty Stites boasts a American Junior Golf Association scoring average of 73.94. As a junior for Sallisaw HS, he finished seventh in the Class 4A state boys golf tournament and qualified for match play at the Oklahoma Jr. Boys and Girls Championship. In 2015 for the Oklahoma Golf Association Junior Tour, he recorded three top-five finishes with a 71.23 scoring average. At the Lockton Kansas City Junior (AJGA), Stites finished sixth and at the Winn Grips/Butch Harmon Senior Showcase (AJGA), he tied for sixth. Stites totaled three top-10 state finishes in his high school career including eighth in 2014 and 10th in 2013.

Head Coach Jason Drotter: I am extremely excited that our program has had the opportunity to sign Ty for the upcoming season. Ty is the No. 2 ranked player in all of Oklahoma.  Ty has shown the ability to compete at the highest levels, and I am quite confident that he will bring the same level of play to CSUF.

Sam Yamauchi | Fr. | Davis, Calif. | Davis Senior High School
Currently in his senior year at Davis Senior High School in Davis, Calif., Sam Yamauchi is a two-time all-Delta Valley League selection, playing four years of varsity golf for head coach Karl Ronning. His personal best golf score is 66 at Paso Robles Golf Club. Prior to his senior season for the Blue Devils, Yamauchi produced two top-five tournament finishes in Northern California Golf Association events and in February shot 69-77-146 to finish second at the Future Collegians World Tour outing at Sandpiper Golf Club in Santa Barbara, Calif. As a sophomore in 2014, Yamauchi finished fifth at the Sac-Joaquin Section North Division I Tournament.

Head Coach Jason Drotter: Sam has been competing against some of the best competition out there, and has shown the ability to perform under difficult circumstances. He has been playing very well, especially in the last year. I am excited to have him as part of this program.
