FULLERTON, Calif. – The Cal State Fullerton men's golf team has just one more tune-up, playing at the OGIO UCSB Intercollegiate on Monday and Tuesday in Santa Barbara, Calif., before the Big West Championship in May.

THE COURSE: The two-day event will be contested at Sandpiper Golf Club, on the coast just north of Santa Barbara, playing at 7,068 yards at par 72 for the 54-hole event. 

THE FIELD: Competing alongside the Titans and UC Santa Barbara will be Cal Poly, CSU Bakersfield, CSUN, Grand Canyon, Incarnate Word, Long Beach State, and Weber State will round out the nine-team field.

IN THE RANKINGS: Following the completion of the first nine tournaments in the 2015-16 men's golf season, Cal State Fullerton is ranked No. 205 in the nation according to the Golfweek/Sagarin Rankings. Rankings for the 2016 OGIO UCSB Intercollegiate: No. 91 Long Beach State, No. 95 Cal Poly, No. 116 UC Santa Barbara, No. 197 Weber State, No. 207 CSUN, No. 217 Grand Canyon, No. 230 Incarnate Word, No. 269 CSU Bakersfield.

LAST TIME OUT ON THE LINKS: The Cal State Fullerton men's golf team shot a third-round score of 308 to conclude the 35th Anteater Invitational in eighth place with a final total of 63-over-par 927 on March 29 at El Niguel Country Club.

Redshirt freshman Davis Holman, competing as an individual, fired a third-round score of 3-over-par 75 as his final score of 9-over-par 225 tied for ninth on the leaderboard.

Matt Murphy led the contingent of Titans competing as a team and moved up six spots to 18th in the standings, shooting a third round score of 75 (+3), to complete the tournament at 12-over-par 228.

Freshman Jack Ireland shot the best round of the tournament for the Titans with a third-round score of 2-over-par 74. Ireland moved up nine spots on the leaderboard with a final three-round total of 13-over-par 229.

2015-16 TAP-INS

• Cal State Fullerton's third-place finish at the Sacramento State Invitational was its best of the spring and its best since a third place mark at the Itani Quality Homes Collegiate on Sept. 29, 2015.

• Mark Cobey's three-round score of even-par 216 and sixth-place finish at the Sacramento State Invitational were both career bests for the sophomore.

• Freshmen Jack Ireland and Matt Wilson have combined to lead the Titans in four of nine tournaments this year in team play. Ireland led Fullerton at the Southern Dunes Collegiate Invitational and tied Matt Wilson for the best Fullerton score at the Folino Invitational. Wilson has also led the team at the Arizona Intercollegiate and the 20th Del Walker Intercollegiate.

• Matt Wilson completed the 20th Del Walker Intercollegiate with a three-round score of 207 (-3), tying for second in the standings. For the rookie, it was his best three-round score and best finish in his Titan career. Wilson's second-place finish was the best for a Titan this year and the best since Mark Anguiano finished in a tie for second place at the 2014 Big West Championship.

• Jack Ireland posted a third-round score of 5-under-par 65 at the 20th Del Walker Intercollegiate. For Ireland, his third-round score was his best round of golf as a Titan, and is the lowest score for any CSF player this year. Ireland's round of 65 is only the sixth in Titan history and the first since Mark Anguiano did so in the first round at the El Macero Classic on April 18, 2014.

•Matt Murphy recorded the best finish of his career shooting at 2-over-par 218, good for third place at the Folino Invitational on Feb. 16. Murphy's third-place finish, competing as an individual, was the best for a CSF player at the Folino Invitational since Mark Anguiano won the event in 2014.

• Junior Martin Manalo carded the best finish of his Titan career, tying for 12th overall with a final score of 222 (+6) at the Folino Invitational on Feb. 16.

• Fullerton's final score of 843 from the Itani Quality Homes Collegiate on Sept. 29 ranks third all-time at Cal State Fullerton for the program's 54-hole team score.

• Redshirt senior Mark Jensma was the top Titan finisher, as his total score of 209 (-4) tied for ninth at the Itani Quality Homes Collegiate. For Jensma, the ninth place finish was the best in his Titan career and the second time he has finished in the top-10. In addition, his second round score of 68 and his total score 209 set career bests.

SEASON SCHEDULE
Cal State Fullerton's 2015-16 campaign features 10 tournaments before the Big West Championship and NCAA Regionals. The Folino Invitational Presented by Microsemi Corporation will again highlight the Titans' season as the sixth-annual tournament has become one of the premier collegiate golf destinations and will be hosted at Industry Hills Golf Club in City of Industry, Calif., on Feb. 15-16. Fullerton will also hit the links outside the state of California, visiting Washington and Arizona twice.
