Cal State Fullerton Finishes Seventh at Arizona Intercollegiate
FULLERTON, Calif. – The Cal State Fullerton men's golf team completed play at the Arizona Intercollegiate at Sewailo Golf Club in Tucson, Ariz. on Tuesday. After finishing in seventh place after the first two-rounds, the Titans finished in the same slot to finish off the tournament.

The Titans shot 594 (+26) over the first day of play, including a 300 (+16) second round and a score of 299 (+15) on Tuesday afternoon in the third round to finish 893 (+41). Currently ranked fourth in the country by Golfstat.com, California walked away with the victory after finishing the tournament with a score of 853 (+1). The Golden Bears shot a 287 (+3) final round on Tuesday. California was followed by Arizona (868, +16), New Mexico (870, +18), and Southern California (872, +20) to round out the top four. 

The tournament, hosted by the University of Arizona, was host to six teams currently ranked in the top-50 by Golfstat.com including No. 4 California, No. 19 New Mexico, No. 25 Southern California, No. 26 Cal State Fullerton, No. 38 Brigham Young, and No. 47 Oregon State.

 

Fullerton senior Mark Anguiano finished tied for 23rd with an overall score of 221 (+8) to lead the Titans. Anguiano shot a team best of 71 (E) in the first round. Junior Ryan Tetrault (225, +12) ended the tournament tied for 37th after recording a score of 75 (+4) on his final round on Tuesday.

Senior Corey Gard shot 73 (+2) on Tuesday and ended the tournament 9-over par to tie for 28th in the standings. Junior Josh Park also tied teammate Ryan Tetrault for 37th place (225, +12). Fullerton freshman Kyle De Silva finished 27-over par with an overall score of 240 for the Titans.

The Titans will be back in action on Feb. 17-18 as they host the Folino Invitational in the City of Industry, Calif at the Industry Hills Golf Course.
