Titans Finish Off Day in Seventh Place

FULLERTON, Calif.- The Cal State Fullerton men's golf team finished its first day of competition in seventh place in the Arizona Intercollegiate at the Sewailo Golf Club in Tucson, Ariz., on Monday.

The Titans shot 594 to finish 26-over par after shooting a first round 294 and second round 300. Heading into the final 18 holes Fullerton is currently 30 strokes behind the leader.

After two rounds, Southern California is in the lead with an overall score of 564 (-4), followed by California (-2, 566), New Mexico (+12, 580), Arizona (+13, 581), and Brigham Young (+13, 581).

With a total score of 135 (-7) through day one, Southern California's Anthony Paolucci tops the individual leaderboard, followed by Brandon Hagy (-5, 137) of California, and Kolton Lapa (-2, 140) of host Arizona.

Senior Mark Anguiano leads the Titans with a total score of 145 (+3). He is currently tied for 15th place in the standings while shooting a 71 (E) in the first round and a 74 (+3) in the second round.
 
Fellow senior Corey Gard shot a first round 76 (+5), and second round 73 (+2) to finish tied for 28th place with an overall score of 149 (+7) after 36 holes. Ryan Tetrault and Josh Park both finished the day with an overall score of 150 (+8) and are currently tied in 32nd. Freshman Kyle De Silva rounds out the Titans with an overall score of 161 (+19).
 
The final 18 holes of the Arizona Intercollegiate will conclude tomorrow at Sewailo Golf Club, a par 71, at 8a.m. For live scoring, go to www.golfstat.com.
