FULLERTON, Calif. – The Cal State Fullerton men's golf team finished its first day of competition tied for 12th in the Warrior-Wave Intercollegiate presented by St. Regis Princeville Resort at Makai Golf Club in Princeville, Kaua'i on Monday.

The Titans shot 300 to finish 12 over par, while Georgia Southern led the 15-team field ending the day with a score of 283 after finishing five under par.

The tournament, co-hosted by the University of Hawai'i and Pepperdine University, is host to five teams currently ranked in the top-50 by Golfweek including No. 35 San Diego State, No. 39 Indiana, No. 46 San Diego, No. 48 Georgia Southern and No. 49 Baylor.

Following Georgia Southern's day-one lead is North Carolina State (284), East Tennessee State (286), UC Irvine (286), and Baylor (287). Co-host Pepperdine is tied for sixth at 291, while UH's A Team is tied with the Titans for 12th (300).

Senior Dakota Duerr led the Titans with a round one score of 73 at one over par, tied for 24th in the field. Junior Corey Gard shot 74 (two over par) to tie for 32nd.

Sophomore Ryan Tetrault shot 76 (4+) in round one, while redshirt freshman Mark Jensma (77, +5) and junior Mark Anguiano (79, +7) rounded out the first day of competition.

Play begins at 7:30 a.m. Tuesday, and concludes with an 8 a.m. tee-off for the final 18 holes on Wednesday.
