FULLERTON, Calif. -- In exchange for a major gift to help with the construction of an on-campus practice facility for the Cal State Fullerton men's and women's golf programs, the facility will be officially dedicated the "Buz and Carol Knyal Practice Facility, MVP 1967 & 1968" in a ceremony to be held on Friday morning at 10 a.m.

The Knyal's made the lead gift of $50,000 for the facility located beyond the outfield fence of softball's Anderson Family Field back in March of 2012. The facility consists of an artificial, undulating putting surface with eight holes surrounded by natural grass aprons and a sand bunker so that the Titans' men's and women's teams can practice their short game while eliminating the need to commute to various area courses.

Buz Knyal was a two-time team MVP for Fullerton in 1967 and 1968 while being named an All-American during his senior year. He graduated with a degree in business administration and, following a brief stint in the golf industry, became a highly successful entrepreneur and established numerous companies, including Wireless Capital Partners, LLC, a leading cell tower lease consulting firm.
