Former Titan Appointed Interim President of College of Sequoias

Visalia, CA - Former Titan basketball player Brent Calvin has been appointed interim superintendent and president of College of Sequoias in Visalia.

The appointment by the community college's board of trustees is for 12 months beginning July 1. Later this year, COS will begin a national search for a permanent president.

Calvin, 43, served as the college's dean of business and social sciences for four years and served five years as athletic director.

Calvin played for the Titans in the 1987-88 and 1988-89 seasons, appearing in 27 games, starting six. He completed his degree in business in 1990, earned an MBA from CSU, Dominguez Hills, and is pursuing a doctorate in education.

Before entering the world of higher education, Calvin owned an engineering firm in Southern California that he sold to URS Corp.
