March 25, 2010

Hidalgo, Texas - Former Cal State Fullerton guard Frank Robinson will get some national television exposure Saturday night when VERSUS will air its ninth NBA Development League game at 8 p.m. PDT with the Rio Grande Valley Vipers hosting the L.A. D-Fenders.

Robinson scored 19 points Wednesday night in the D-Fenders' 117-110 loss at the Staples Center to the Reno Bighorns. In 33 games, he is averaging 12.4 points, 3.8 rebounds and 3.7 assists for the 16-29 "farm" team of the L.A. Lakers. He played three seasons for the Titans (2005-06 thru 2007-08) and was a key player on the Big West Conference championship team his senior year.

VERSUS' presentation of the NBA D-League provides fans with greater access to the game and its players through microphones worn by players and coaches; in-game interviews; locker room access including pregame, halftime and postgame speeches; and innovative camera angles. All NBA D-League action on VERSUS is presented in HD.

The Los Angeles D-Fenders travel to South Texas to take on the best team in the Western Conference. The Vipers are led by NBA D-League All-Star forward and Rice product Mike Harris, NBA D-League veteran point guard and University of Washington graduate Will Conroy, and recently re-acquired NBA D-League All-Star rookie Antonio Anderson following two 10-day contracts with the Oklahoma City Thunder. The team, which has dominated the Conference all season long, has secured a playoff berth and is in the hunt to secure their first-ever Western Conference Championship. The Vipers, who have defeated the D-Fenders twice this season, will square off against Los Angeles' first-year head coach Chucky Brown and his NBA D-League All-Star Slam Dunk Champion and DePaul product, Dar Tucker.
