Indianapolis, IN - Cal State Fullerton men's basketball coach Bob Burton today was selected the District 15 coach of the year by the National Associaton of Basketball Coaches.

District 15 includes 18 schools in the Southwest U.S. -- UCLA, USC, Arizona, Arizona State, UC Davis, UC Irvine, UC Riverside, UC Santa Barbara, Cal Poly SLO, Cal State Northridge, Long Beach State, Loyla Marymount, UNLV, New Mexico State and Pepperdine, Sacramento State and Univ. of San Diego and Fullerton.

The Titans have matched their school records for most regular-season wins (21-8) and best conference record (12-4) and earned a Big West Conference tri-championship, the first title for Fullerton since a co-championship in 1976.

Burton is in his fifth year and is the winningest coach in Fullerton history at .602 (89-59). The Titans have posted four consecutive seasons for the first time since 1981-85.
