James Nunnally scored 27 points and grabbed a career-high 13 rebounds Wednesday night to lead UC Santa Barbara to an 86-71 Big West Conference victory over Cal State Fullerton.
Orlando Johnson added 20 points for the Gauchos (14-10, 7-6), who avenged an earlier loss at Fullerton.
The Titans (9-17, 5-8) were led by Devon Peltier with 19 points. Jer'Vaughn Johnson scored 17 points and Orane Chin had 16.
UCSB led the entire game, taking control early at 14-4. The biggest lead was 40-20 with about 5 minutes left in the half. Fullerton got within 45-34 at halftime and got the margin down to 8 points on several occasions but couldn't get any closer.
UCSB shot 56 percent from the floor and 50 percent (10 of 20) from the 3-point line. The Gauchos were credited with 26 assists on their 28 baskets.
The Titans travel to Pocatello to face Idaho State Saturday at 4 p.m. MST in an ESPNU Bracket Buster matchup. UCSB hosts Boise State.
