Chris Minardo will try to stay healthy and make a contribution
to the Titans' 2006-07 campaign... Sat out last season after
recurring wrist injuries... He is a very skilled, late-blooming
athlete with an intriguing three seasons of eligibility
remaining... Good shooter with perimeter skills yet aggressive at
both ends of the floor... Plays with reckless abandon unusual for
such a slim body... Looks to take the charge... Originally hurt his
left (non-shooting) wrist in the final game of his freshman season
at Citrus and reinjured it on more than one occasion last year.
CITRUS COLLEGE: Grayshirted in 2003-04 and played only his true
freshman 2004-05 season at Citrus College in Azusa for Coach Jim
Hyneman... Averaged 18.2 points and 7.6 rebounds and earned
honorable mention All-Western State Conference South Division
honors... Made the Dean's List and was among the top 100 students
in school.
AYALA HIGH SCHOOL: Played only one varsity season (2002-03) at
Ayala High School in Chino Hills for Coach Bill Erbst... Averaged
11 points and 8 rebounds at a small forward position... Made the
Honor Roll... Played in the Inland Empire Basketball Program Summer
All-Star Game.
PERSONAL: Born on Apr. 16, 1985, in Fullerton... Parents are
Michael and Shelley Minardo of Chino Hills... Has a younger sister,
Kelli... Business major who hopes to become a stock broker... Chose
Cal State Fullerton because of the coaching staff and campus
location... Most memorable sports thrill was committing to CSF...
Also considered Wichita State and Saint Mary's... Credits his
father with biggest influence on his career "because he's the most
dedicated and brought the best out of me and never gave up on me
and my dream."
