John Clemmons is a key member of the Titan basketball program although he doesn't have a lot of minutes to show for his contributions... Destined to back up Bobby Brown at point guard... Cannot provide the scoring that Brown does but there's little if any drop-off in the efficiency of the offense... Played in concert with Brown on several occasions last season... Gets the whole team involved in the offense... Suffered fractured metatarsal in his right foot the night before the post-season NIT game at Oregon State and missed the final three contests of the season... Surgery on foot included insertion of a pin and the rehabilitation idled him until the formal start of practice in mid-October... Another product of the "winning" program at Westchester High School.

CSF IN 2004-05: Averaged 1.9 points and 1.0 assists while playing about 8 minutes per contest... Played in every game until the foot injury... Shining moment came against UC Santa Barbara on Jan. 29 when he took over for an ineffective Bobby Brown (season-low 3 points on 1-for-8 shooting) and directed the Titans on a 15-0 second-half run and a subsequent 68-59 win that snapped the Gauchos' 7-game winning streak in Titan Gym... In 15 minutes he scored 4 points and had 4 rebounds... Had 4 points and 5 rebounds in 8 minutes vs. UC Riverside on Jan. 6... Played a major role in road win at Cal Poly on Feb. 26 with season-high 7 rebounds and a 3-pointer in 15 minutes of play.

EL CAMINO COLLEGE: Two-time first-team All-South Coast Conference selection for the Warriors... Averaged 15 points and 4 assists as a sophomore in the 2002-03 season and earned team most valuable player honors... Was team's freshman of the year in 2001-02... Recruited by Coach Bob Burton while he was an assistant coach for Fresno State but John had academic shortcomings and fell off the recruiting radar screen until Burton got the Fullerton job and renewed interest.

WESTCHESTER HIGH SCHOOL: Two-year letterman for the highly successful Comets and Coach Ed Azzam... Played with and behind several Div. I players.

PERSONAL: Born on Feb. 28, 1983, in Los Angeles... Mother is Jimmye Clemmons of Los Angeles... Father (John) is deceased... Has three sisters -- Shay, Shaun and Lisa... Communications major... Goal is to play professional basketball and then become a sports agent... Most memorable sports thrill was playing against NBA stars Baron Davis and Paul Pierce in summer leagues... Won a summer game in 2004 with a 20-foot runner at the buzzer... Credits Coach Ed Azzam for most influence on his career: "I was not serious about basketball until I played for him."
