Jamaal Brown was the extent of the Titans' inside presence in the second half of last season and he is looking forward to help from the number of tall newcomers on the roster... Suffered a summer knee injury that required arthroscopic surgery that has set him back this Fall by about a month but was expected to be ready by November... He had to overcome a lingering foot injury the previous summer... Strong, physical player with a soft shooting touch and range out to the the 3-point line... Received Big West Conference honorable mention... Will have his third jersey number as a Titan this season... Originally requested No. 4 in honor of a former teammate but gave it up during the retirement ceremony for Rodney Anderson on ABC TV's "Extreme Makeover: Home Improvement" and wore No. 32 all of last season.

CSF IN 2004-05: Became eligible on Dec. 21 at San Diego State and had a forgettable debut, getting into early foul trouble and scoring only 8 points with 2 rebounds in 22 minutes... But bounced back the next game with a spectacular performance against a solid Denver team... Scored a career-high 29 points on 12-for-18 shooting embellished by 10 rebounds in a 102-92 home victory... Eventually posted eight double-doubles including three in a row in the post-season NIT at Oregon State, USF and Georgetown... Averaged 12.4 points and 7.6 rebounds, third best in the Big West Conference... Was seventh in field-goal percentage at .496... Made game-winning buckets three times: a pair of free throws with 4 seconds to go to seal a 3-point win over UCR on Jan. 6, a field goal and two free throws in the final 25 seconds for a 1-point win at UC Irvine and a tip-in at the buzzer vs. Cal State Northridge on Mar. 5.

CSF IN 2003-04: Sat out the second half of the season after playing in 5 games during the first semester at Western Kentucky.

WESTERN KENTUCKY: Played a prominent role on the Hilltoppers' 2003 NCAA Tournament team, which finished with a 24-9 record... Played in all 33 games, averaging 5.3 points and 2.9 rebounds in 13 minutes per contest... Shot 48 percent from the floor and 74 percent from the foul line... Had a strong Sun Belt Conference post-season tournament... In first round he had 10 points vs. Florida International... In second round he had 12 points and a career-high 9 rebounds in a win over New Mexico State... In the title game he had 9 points in a win over Middle Tennessee... Runnerup to conference freshman of the year... Had a WKU career-high 16 points vs. Tennessee Tech on Dec. 30, 2002... Also competed in track and field one season and won all-conference honors as the team won the outdoor championship in 2003.

SPARTANBURG HIGH SCHOOL: Outstanding two-sport athlete... South Carolina Player of the Year... Averaged 19.4 points and 12.3 rebounds when he was his area player of the year to cap a 4-year varsity career... Scored more than 1,000 points... As a junior and sophomore was all-area and team and league's top rebounder... Was MVP of the Tip-Off Classic and all-tournament at the Christmas Classic... Led team to only state championship in school history... Twice was selected all-state in track and field as a thrower... Four-year letterman.

PERSONAL: Born on Nov. 22, 1983, in Spartanburg, South Carolina... Parents are Rev. Barry Brown and Keisha Brown... Mother is Pamela Brown... Has a sister, Kayla (12)... Communications major who hopes to play professional basketball and then coach... For the most influence on his career, he credits "God, my dad and Doug Lowe... because I know God believes in me and my dad and my coach were always right behind me"...
