SAN DIEGO – Cal State Fullerton Men's Basketball fell in a back-and-forth contest 66-56 to San Diego State on Wednesday night at Viejas Arena.

Tray Maddox Jr. led the way for Fullerton with 15 points, while Dante Maddox Jr. chipped in with 11 points, and Vincent Lee added seven points and seven boards.

In the first half Fullerton struggled to establish their offensive flow, with the Aztecs taking an 18-8 lead 10 minutes into the contest. Vincent Lee led the way early on with six points in the paint in the first half.

The Titans played solid defense throughout the first half, holding San Diego State to 46% shooting from the floor, but it was the Aztecs who would eventually take a 32-22 lead into halftime.

It was a different story after the break. Tory San Antonio hit a three to open the half.

That was followed up by an emphatic and-1 score by Lee, to cut the deficit to six. Fullerton would keep chipping away at the lead, and eventually tied the game at 39-39 courtesy of a 6-0 run.

San Diego State would then go on a 5-0 run of their own to re-take the lead 46-39. But with just under 10 minutes remaining Dante Maddox Jr. responded for the Titans, hitting a corner three to cut the deficit to 46-44.

Tray Maddox Jr. would continue his stellar second half with another triple to make it a one-point game, 52-51 with just under four minutes to go.

However, San Diego State would pull away late and run out 66-56 winners.

The Titans will be back in action at the Titan Gym on Saturday night against Life Pacific at 6 p.m.
