Men's Basketball Loses to UT Rio Grande Valley

FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. – Cal State Fullerton men's basketball lost to UT Rio Grande Valley Tuesday evening by a score of 72-67 at the J. Lawrence Walkup Skydome. The Titans are now 2-3 on the season.

The Titans led by three points at halftime but were unable to maintain their lead in the second half. Fullerton trailed by as many as 14 points before making a late run to get back in the game. 

E.J. Anosike led the team in scoring with 19 points on 6-of-9 shooting from the field. He nearly recorded his third double-double of the season, grabbing nine boards in 31 minutes. 

Latrell Wrightsell Jr. gave the team a jolt of energy off the bench, tying a season-high with 17 points on 6-of-10 shooting including 3-of-5 from three. 

UT Rio Grande Valley was led by Justin Johnson who scored 18 points. Donte Houston Jr. and Ricky Nelson added 17 points each for the Vaqueros. 

Fullerton is back in action Wednesday evening against Northern Arizona in the final game of the NAU Tournament. Tip-off is set for 5:00 p.m. PT.
