SAN DIEGO - Cal State Fullerton men's basketball was swept by the UC San Diego Tritons on Saturday by a score of 85-78. Junior guard Tray Maddox Jr. scored a career-high 30 points to lead the Titans in points. Next up, the Titans (No. 7 seed) face Cal Poly (No. 10 seed) on Tuesday in the Big West Tournament at 6 p.m. PT. The game will be broadcast live on ESPN3.

Fullerton (6-9 overall) led for 20 minutes on Saturday but the game was close as there were 15 lead changes and five ties throughout. UCSD (7-10) led for 15 minutes and had its biggest lead of 10 at the :15 second mark of the second half.

The Titans shot the ball well from the field at 49.2% (30-61), 50% (9-18) from distance and 90% (9-10) at the stripe. Despite the strong offensive performance, UCSD was better offensively, shooting 34-57 (59.6%) overall, 10-19 (52.6%) beyond the arc and 7-10 (70%) at the line. The Tritons scored 39 bench points as well.

Maddox Jr. contributed four rebounds and three assists to go with his career-high 30 points. Redshirt sophomore forward Vincent Lee (12 points, five rebounds), freshman guard Dante Maddox Jr. (10 points) and sophomore guard Tory San Antonio (12 points, eight rebounds and four assists) were the other Titans to score 10+.
