MBB Drops Game One at UCSD

SAN DIEGO - Cal State Fullerton men's basketball fell to the UC San Diego Tritons on Friday night by a score of 89-85. Junior guard Tray Maddox Jr. led the Titans in scoring with 21 points while four others scored in double figures as well. Game two of the series tips at 5 p.m. PT in RIMAC Arena on Saturday. The game will be streamed on ESPN3.

UC San Diego (6-10) led for 28 minutes on Friday and led by as many as 13 in the second quarter. Fullerton (6-8) was on top for eight minutes and led 43-41 at the half. But, the Tritons won the second half 48-42 to secure the win.

The Titans trailed by 10 with 2:31 left in the game but battled to make it a three-point game with 33 seconds left. UCSD made one free throw to push the lead to four and got the necessary stop to secure the win.

Tray Maddox Jr. tallied 21 points (7-15 FGA), one rebound and two assists. Senior forward Josh Hall recorded his second double-double of the season with 16 points and 11 rebounds. Sophomore guard Tory San Antonio posted his first-career double-double with 12 points and 12 rebounds. Sophomore forward Doctor Bradley had 14 points and eight rebounds in 30 minutes off the bench.
