HIGHLIGHTS

FULLERTON, Calif. - Cal State Fullerton men's basketball led for 38 minutes on Friday night in the 83-67 win over Hawai'i. Junior guard Tray Maddox Jr. (23 points) and freshman guard Dante Maddox Jr. (20 points) led the team in scoring. Game two of the series is set for 5 p.m. PT on Saturday on ESPN3.

The Titans (4-4, 3-4 Big West) jumped out to a 13-4 lead to start the game over the 'Bows (3-4, 1-4 Big West). Hawai'i came back to take a one-point lead at the 8:39 mark of the first half but it only led for 19 seconds the entire game. Although the lead was around 10 the majority of the game, it never felt like Hawai'i was in danger of losing.

Fullerton was quite efficient on offense as it scored 40 points in the paint on 53.6% (30-56) shooting from the field. The squad also shot 9-18 (50%) from three and 14-19 (73.7%) beyond the arc. Defensively, the Titans held Hawai'i to just 39.1% (25-64) shooting overall, 36.0% (9-25) from three and 80% (8-10).

Tray scored his scored 23 points on 8-12 shooting from the floor and 5-7 from deep. He has now scored 20+ points in three games this season. He also pitched in two rebounds, two assists, one block and two steals. Dante shot 5-10 from the field and 3-6 beyond the arc while going 7-7 at the line. He pitched four rebounds and two assists. Redshirt freshman Doctor Bradley scored a career-high 13 points and grabbed a career-high four rebounds in 14 minutes. Redshirt sophomore Vincent Lee was dominant inside once again with 14 points (7-10 shooting) and six rebounds. He was a team-high +27 in the plus-minus category.
