Grayson Carper Signs With Men's Basketball

FULLERTON, Calif. - Cal State Fullerton men's basketball head coach Dedrique Taylor announced on Wednesday that Grayson Carper is the first signee for the upcoming 2021-22 season. When he arrives on campus, Carper will have three seasons to play at Fullerton.

Carper is a 6-6 (190 pounds) guard in his second year at Columbia College in Sonora, Calif. During his freshman year, while playing alongside current Titan Landis Spivey, Carper averaged 17 points, seven rebounds, and four assists while shooting 47% from the field and 38% from beyond the arc. He was named CCCAA Central Valley Conference First Team All-Freshman and First Team All-Conference in addition to earning CCCAA All-State honors while leading the Jumpers to a 26-4 record. Originally from Fresno, he played high school basketball at Clovis West High School.

"Grayson gives us another high character young man that has some experience and comes from a very good program at Columbia lead by Coach Hoyt," Taylor said. "We are excited for what he brings, versatility, size, length, athleticism and a very high basketball IQ. Our staff has done an excellent job identifying these types of characteristics and Grayson is another example of what our program stands for."

"Grayson Carper is arguably the best player in the CCCAA," Columbia College Head Coach Rob Hoyt said. "His work ethic and drive are unmatched. Above all, Grayson Carper is an outstanding person and we could not be happier for him, his family and the Cal State Fullerton family."
