FULLERTON, Calif. - The Big West Conference announced the 2019-20 all-conference teams and yearly awards on Monday. Cal State Fullerton men's basketball was represented by seniors Brandon Kamga and Jackson Rowe. Kamga was named Newcomer of the Year and both of them were also Second-Team All-Big West honorees.
Brandon Kamga - Newcomer of the Year, Second-Team All-Big West
Senior • Guard • Reston, Va. • High Point
• Fourth Titan to collect Newcomer of the Year honors – Andre Hardy (2011), D.J. Seeley (2012) and Michael Williams (2014)
• Transfer from High Point ranked among Big West top 10 in scoring (No. 3, 15.5 ppg), field goal percentage (No. 10, .425), free throw percentage (No. 8, .810) and three-point field goals made (No. 9, 50)
• Notched six 20-point games and closed out the regular season posting 22 straight double-digit scoring performances
• In conference games only, scoring average jumped to 18.4 points per game – No. 2 overall – and ranked third in free throw percentage (.855, 71-of-83)
Jackson Rowe - Second-Team All-Big West
Senior • Forward • Toronto, Ontario
• Finished the regular season as the team's leading scorer (15.6 points per game), rebounder (7.4 rebounds per game) and shot blocker (25 total)
• Recorded five double-doubles on the year and 21 for his career, the No. 4 total in Fullerton history.
• Scored 10+ points in 18 of the 20 games played
• Earned a yearly honor from the Big West all four years of his career - 2016-17 Freshman of the Year, 2017-18 and 2018-19 All-Big West Honorable Mention, 2019-20 Second-Team All-Big West
The No. 7 seed Titans open up the Big West Tournament on Thursday at 12 p.m. PT against the No. 2 seed CSUN Matadors. The game will be streamed live on ESPN3.
