MBB Wins Sixth Straight Over LBSU

FULLERTON, Calif. - Cal State Fullerton men's basketball picked up a 75-69 win over Long Beach State on Saturday night. It is the sixth straight win for the Titans against LBSU. On Senior Night, the seniors stepped up for the Titans as three of them were in double figures and the fourth made key plays down the stretch to secure the win. With the win, the Titans are the No. 7 seed in the Big West Tournament and face CSUN at 12 p.m. PT on Thursday at the Honda Center. The game will be streamed live on ESPN3.

The Titans (11-20, 6-10 Big West) led for 31 minutes on Saturday. It was tied at halftime and LBSU (11-21, 6-10 Big West) led by four early in the second half but the Titans took the lead off a dunk by junior Johnny Wang at the 16:03 mark of the second period and did not trail the rest of the way, extending the lead to eight at one point. 

Fullerton shot 43.8% (28-60) from the field, 40% (8-20) from distance and 64.7% (11-17) at the free-throw line. LBSU went 24-57 (42.1%) from the floor, 6-21 (28.6%) beyond the arc and 15-18 (83.3%) at the line.

Senior guard Brandon Kamga led the team in scoring with 19 points while also pitching in seven rebounds. Senior guard Austen Awosika tallied 13 points, 10 assists, seven rebounds and three steals with just one turnover in 34 minutes. Senior forward Jackson Rowe battled foul trouble but still managed 15 points, four rebounds, two assists and two blocks in 22 minutes. Rowe was a team-high +17. Senior forward Davon Clare chipped in nine points, four rebounds (three offensive) and five assists in 39 minutes. Wang was the fourth Titan in double figures with 12 points, two rebounds and a block. He was +16 in 30 minutes, the second-best mark on the team.
