FULLERTON, Calif. - Cal State Fullerton men's basketball picked up much-needed win on Wednesday night over the UC Riverside Highlanders by a score of 61-48. After suffering two losses on the road last week, Fullerton started off its four-game homestand with a win over UCR thanks to seniors Brandon Kamga (19 points) and Jackson Rowe (14 points). UCR's 48 points is not only the fewest points the Titans have allowed in a game this season, it is the fewest points the Titans have allowed in a Big West game since they won at UC Riverside by a score 77-47 on Jan. 7, 2008.

The Titans (9-15, 4-5 Big West) led for nearly 35 minutes and the three minutes they weren't in front, the Highlanders' (14-10, 4-4 Big West) largest lead was just three points. UCR turned the ball over 17 times and the Titans turned them into 23 points. CSF tied a season-high with 10 steals on the night. UCR also shot just 3-14 (21.4%) from the three-point line.

Rowe was big in the first half as he carried the load and helped the Titans get the lead as he tallied nine points, three rebounds, four assists and three steals. He finished the game with 14 pionts, five rebounds, five assists and three steals. Kamga then stepped up in the second half, scoring 13 of his 19 points on 5-8 shooting. For the game he went 8-14 from the field and 2-2 at the free-throw line while also grabbing three rebounds and two steals in 40 minutes of action. Senior forward Davon Clare tallied 10 points and eight rebounds with two steals in 30 minutes. Senior guard Austen Awosika played 40 minutes and posted six points, four rebounds, five assists and three steals.

Next up, Fullerton hosts UC Davis on Saturday at 7:30 p.m. PT on ESPN3. It is a doubleheader in Titan Gym as the women's team plays at 5 p.m., also on ESPN3.
