Santa Barbara, Calif. – Cal State Fullerton men's basketball had its four-game winning streak snapped on Saturday night by UC Santa Barbara as the Gauchos won 82-67. Fullerton never led in the game and trailed by as many as 20 points but battled back and made it a competitive game throughout.

The Titans fell behind by 20 at the 7:08 mark of the first half with the score at 33-13. Fullerton hung in there, cut the lead to 10 at the half and had the deficit around five throughout the second period. It was a three-point game at the 10:22 mark of the second half at 53-50 but the Gauchos went on an 8-0 run and the lead never dipped below six the rest of the game.

Fullerton shot 44.6% (25-56) from the floor, 46.2% (6-13) and 61.1% (11-18). The Gauchos out-rebounded the Titans 39-24 and had 27 points off the bench. In part because of fouling at the end of the game, UCSB went 20-27 (74.1%) from the charity stripe.

Senior guard Khalil Ahmad led the team with 27 points (11-17 FGA, 3-7 FTA) to go with four rebounds and three steals. Senior guard Kyle Allman, Jr. tallied 16 points, three assists and three steals. Junior forward Jackson Rowe had 10 points and five rebounds. Junior guard Jamal Smith logged 28 minutes off the bench and chipped in eight points, four rebounds and three assists.

Fullerton returns to action on Thursday at 7 p.m. PT against Cal Poly for Fan Appreciation Night in Titan Gym.
