FULLERTON, Calif. – Cal State Fullerton men's basketball extended quite a few streaks in its 62-58 victory over the Aggies of UC Davis on Thursday night. The Titans have now won four straight games overall, they have beaten UC Davis in each of the last four matchups and they have won five consecutive games at Titan Gym. The second-place Titans have won nine of their last 10 games. The Titans are off to their best start in Big West Conference action since the 2011-12 squad with their 9-3 record.

The largest lead for the Titans (13-13, 9-3) was eight and the largest lead for the Aggies (10-15, 6-5) was six, as it was a neck-and-neck game throughout. Neither team shot the ball well in the first half as Fullerton was at 33.3% while UC Davis was at 34.6% but the Titans held a 27-22 lead. Davis immediately took the lead at the start of the second frame and it was relatively close until the end of the game. Fullerton grabbed a 43-42 lead at the 13:13 point of the second half and did not relinquish that lead. It was 58-57 with 3:33 left but the Titans closed the game on a 4-1 run to secure the win.

Senior guard Khalil Ahmad led the team in scoring with 15 points to go with four rebounds, one assist and two steals. Junior forward Jackson Rowe just missed a double-double with 13 points, nine rebounds and an assist. Junior Austen Awosika had 11 points, three rebounds, six assists, one steal and just one turnover in 34 minutes of action. Senior guard Kyle Allman, Jr. battled foul trouble and had just five points in 21 minutes but did make two clutch free throws down the stretch to push the CSF lead from 60-57 to 62-57.

Fullerton returns to action on Saturday at UC Santa Barbara at 7 p.m. PT.
