FULLERTON, Calif. – The reigning Big West Tournament Champion Cal State Fullerton men's basketball team hosts San Diego Christian in the lone exhibition matchup of the season on Saturday at 2 p.m. PT. The squad then hosts the annual Center Court Tip-Off Dinner on Sunday at 4 p.m. at the Embassy Suites Brea.
The Titans will finally be able to play somebody other than themselves on Saturday after the successful Blue/Orange Scrimmage on Oct. 26.
Although the game does not count in the win-loss column, the Titans are 1-0 all-time against San Diego Christian in official matchups. The Titans won 106-60 on Nov. 23, 2012 in the lone game between the two teams.
Head coach Dedrique Taylor enters his sixth season leading the Titans and is fresh off a trip to the 2018 NCAA Tournament. He returns four starters from the squad that finished the year with a 20-12 record and won the Big West Conference Tournament.
Guards Kyle Allman, Jr. and Khalil Ahmad arguably rank as the Big West's top backcourt. Allman led the team with 19.5 points per game and connected on an impressive 42.9 percent of his attempts from long range. Ahmad added 15.1 points per game and made a team high 57 three-pointers. Add in Jamal Smith (3.9 points) and Austen Awosika (7.2 points), who can both handle the ball, and the diversity of the backcourt is evident. Jackson Rowe, a 6-7 junior, averaged 12.1 points and a team high 6.7 rebounds last season. He will be joined in the frontcourt by senior Dominik Heinzl along with sophomores Johnny Wang and Josh Pitts.
The squad opens the season officially at Arizona State on Tuesday at 5 p.m. PT. The game will be broadcast live on the Pac-12 Network.

Cal State Fullerton is set to host its first ever Double Header at the 2018 Homecoming Event on Saturday, December 1st. Women's Basketball takes on CSU Bakersfield at 2:30pm followed by Men's Basketball taking on Cal Lutheran at 6:00pm. In between the two games fans can take part in the Homecoming pre-game festival. Homecoming package includes general admission to the festival and both Women's and Men's Basketball games, a custom student designed T-shirt, meal voucher for In-N-Out Burger, and non-alcoholic beverages.
