FULLERTON, Calif. – Cal State Fullerton junior guard Kyle Allman, Jr. was named to one of the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) 2017-18 Division I All-District Teams. It was announced by the NABC on Tuesday. Selected and voted on by member coaches of the NABC in NCAA Division I, these student-athletes represent the finest basketball players across America. Allman was named to the District 9 second team along with four other student-athletes. He is the first Titan to earn NABC All-District honors since DJ Seeley in 2012-13.
Allman, the Jan. 8 and Jan. 29 Big West Player of the Week, is first in the league in scoring at 19.4 points per game overall and in just BWC play, he led the way at 21.6 ppg. Allman is shooting 48.8 percent from the field, the No. 1 mark in the league (per NCAA). He's second on the team in assists at 2.4 per game (73 total) and is second on the team in steals with 36 (1.2 per game). Allman has scored 20+ points 16 times this season, including six of the last eight games, and 30+ points on four occasions. The Brooklyn native has scored in double figures in 27 of 31 games in 2017-18. Allman has made seven or more free throws 12 times this year.
Allman was also named to the All-Big West First Team and was the Big West Tournament MVP as well.
Allman became the 25th member of the program's 1K Club as he scored 23 points at CSUN (Feb. 28) to eclipse 1,000-career points.
The Titans face the Purdue Boilermakers in the first round of the NCAA Tournament on Friday at 9:40 a.m. PT in Detroit.
