SCOUTING THE AGGIES: UC Davis enters the night at 13-14 overall and 8-7 in the Big West Conference for sixth place -- just two games ahead of the Titans in the standings... the Aggies are on a  bit of a roll, having won two-straight, and five of their last seven, including a seven-point win at UC Riverside on Thursday... UC Davis is 5-9 away from The Pavilion this year... sophomore guard Corey Hawkins is the conference's leading scorer at 20.5 ppg and shooting .474 from the floor this season, hitting better than 86 percent (133-for-154) from the line... junior guard Ryan Sypkens (14.4 ppg) and sophomore forward J.T. Adenrele (12.5 ppg) are also in double figures... senior guard Ryan Howley leads the team on the boards at 7.7 rpg.

HEAD-TO-HEAD WITH UC DAVIS: Cal State Fullerton leads the all-time series with UC Davis, 12-7, including a 95-88 shootout win in Northern California on Jan. 24 earlier this season... the Titans are 5-3 all-time against the Aggies at home, posting a 65-64 win at Titan Gym last season to end a three-game losing streak on their own floor... the last four meetings have all been decided by single digits -- none by more than seven points.

MEDIC!!!: Senior D.J. Seeley is just the latest casualty in the M*A*S*H unit that is the Cal State Fullerton men's basketball team, missing the majority of the second half on Thursday night against Pacific after suffering a foot injury. He was scheduled to see doctors on Friday (March 1) and his status for Saturday's contest against UC Davis is unknown. He joins a list of "wounded" for the Titans that includes forward Marquis Horne (shoulder), forward Sammy Yeager (back), and forward Darius Nelson (foot).

VAUGHN "THIS" CLOSE: After a team-high 16 points on Thursday night against Pacific, senior Kwame Vaughn stands just 18 points shy of joining teammate D.J. Seeley in the 1,000-point club this season -- a seemingly easy feat since Vaughn has scored at least that many points in 16 of his 28 games this season. The senior enters the night at 982 points in 59 games, having not missed a start in his two seasons as a Titan.

TWO IN ONE YEAR?: Should Vaughn join his teammate in the 1,000-point club this season, they would become only the fifth pair in school history to accomplish the milestone in the same year and the first in 21 years:

• Keith Anderson (1,240), Kevin Heenan (1,163) & Mike Niles (1,014) in 1978-79

• Tony Neal (1,327) and Gary Davis (1,165) in 1984-85

• Cedric Ceballos (1,284) and Mark Hill (1,040) in 1989-90

• Agee Ward (1,017) and Joe Small (1,011) in 1991-92

SCORING TROUBLES TUMBLE TITANS OUT OF TOP FIVE: Ranked among the nation's top scoring teams for most of the season, the Titans took a tumble out of their comfortable top five spot among the NCAA leaders, falling all the way to seventh at 78.8 ppg. It is the seventh-consecutive game that Fullerton has been held to under 80 points, having not reached the mark since a 92-86 loss to Cal State Northridge on Jan. 31.

ELSEWHERE IN THE NATION: As of Feb. 25, Fullerton also ranks among the top 25 teams in the NCAA in free throw percentage (8th, .764), three-pointers per game (11th, 8.6 pg), points scored (17th, 2207), turnover margin (15th, +3.7), and field goal percentage (23rd, .474).

SHOOTOUT AT THE TITAN CORRAL: Fans may be in for a second dose of the shootout that was in Davis earlier this year as Saturday's match up features the top two shooting teams in the Big West Conference entering the night. UC Davis leads the league in both field goal percentage (.474) and three-point percentage (.399), leading Fullerton by mere percentage points in overall shooting (.4735) and from beyond the arc (.382).

LET'S PLAY TWO: Never mind, Ernie Banks, this time we'll pass. For the fifth time this season, and the fourth time at home, the Titans' men's and women's basketball programs will compete in an event normally reserved for their fellow student-athletes on the baseball and softball teams as Fullerton will host a basketball doubleheader at Titan Gym. However, in the case of the Titans' men's team, they may want to pass on this opportunity as Fullerton has lost its last three consecutive doubleheader games after falling on Thursday night to Pacific. That run follows a string of five-consecutive doubleheader victories and six of the Titans' last eight. The women, on the other hand, have followed four-straight losses with wins in three of its last four doubleheaders.

SEELEY HITS 500: Despite missing all but five minutes of Thursday's second half against Pacific due to injury, senior D.J. Seeley's seven points against the Tigers were enough to get him to 500 points for the second consecutive year, standing just 37 points shy of his junior year output and 47 points shy of breaking into the school's single-season top 10. A 538th point this season would be the most for a Fullerton player since Josh Akognon scored 764 points (23.9 ppg) as a senior in 2008-09.

HARRIS PICKS UP THE PACE: With the loss of Seeley on Thursday, the Titans needed someone to help carry the scoring load and sophomore Alex Harris stepped forward. Harris, who has reached double figures 15 times this season, finished with 12 points for his fourth-straight double digit scoring night, averaging 11.8 ppg over that span.

LOW BLOW: It was an off night for the fourth-highest scoring team in the country as the Titans were held to their lowest scoring output (55 points), their fewest points in a half (16), and their lowest shooting percentage (.308) of the year. The 55 points were the fewest since Fullerton was limited in a 75-54 loss to Cal State Northridge in the first round of the 2011 Big West Tournament while the shooting night and the 16-point first hald were the Titans' worst since they shot just .231 overall and scored nine points in the first half in a 77-44 loss at UC Santa Barbara on Jan. 31, 2004.

NOT IN A GIVING MOOD: Thursday night marked the sixth-straight game that the Titans have had fewer turnovers than their opponents -- giving the ball away no more than 13 times in that span -- and have committed 358 turnovers this season (third fewest in the league) while standing second with 461 turnovers forced (including a league-leading 16.5 turnovers forced per game) and leading the conference with a +3.68 turnover margin. Fullerton has had fewer turnovers than their opponents in 22 of its 28 games this season, posting only a 13-9 mark in those games, but is outscoring the opposition, 539-377, in the points off turnovers category.

TREY MAGNIFIQUE: D.J. Seeley will go down as one of the top sharpshooters in the history of the program, shooting a individual career record .423 from beyond the arc (minimum 100 made) and ranking 13th with 129 makes from beyond the arc. Seeley's prolific career from beyond the arc would break the current top mark of Marcus Crenshaw, who shot .414 (151-for-365) from three-point range in his two seasons from 2006-08. 

THAT'S OFFENSIVE: Cal State Fullerton's 13 offensive rebounds on Thursday against Pacific marked only the ninth time in 28 games this season the Titans have reached double digits on the offensive glass and is tied for the team's fourth-highest total this season.

SPARK: With the Titans' roster seemingly becoming thinner by the day, senior Jordan Knox and redshirt sophomore Chris Collins have been making the most of their chances off the bench, providing Fullerton with valuable minutes and production. Both put up career-high minutes on Thursday night against Pacific with 15 and 26, respectively, while Collins tied a career high with four rebounds against the Tigers. Knox, who appeared in just 45 minutes in his first 11 appearances this season, has played in 44 minutes over the last four contests (11.0 mpg). Collins has also seen a dramatic increase in court time, playing in 82 minutes (20.5 mpg) over the last four after logging just 40 minutes in his first 12 outings.

NO SUCH THING AS A FREE LUNCH: But there are such things as free points if you're Kwame Vaughn. The Titans' senior finished 10-for-13 at the line on Feb. 20 against Cal Poly -- the fifth time this season he has had double-digit makes from the stripe -- and added six more makes on Thursday against Pacific to increase his league-leading total to 155 free throws made, which stands fourth overall on the school's single-season list -- just one back of Pape Sow, who hit 156 from the stripe from 2003-04. Vaughn enters the night ranked fourth in the Big West in free throw percentage at .829, a total that would rank him seventh on the school's single-season list, while his career mark of .836 entering the night would be the fourth-best in school history.

HE'S HERE TO HELP: Senior Kwame Vaughn finished with a game-high seven assists in the Titans' win over Cal Poly -- the seventh time that he has finished with six-or-more assists in a game this season -- and added five more on Thursday against Pacific, helping push Vaughn's career total to 227 assists in almost two full seasons, a mark that ranks third among active Big West players and 13th on the school's all-time list -- passing both Chris Dade (224 from 1994-98) and Kevin Heenan (225 from 1975-79) for the spot. Next up: Gary Davis in 12th with 235 assists from 1981-85.

SHARING IS CARING: Seniors D.J. Seeley and Kwame Vaughn have each surpassed the 100-assist mark for the season, marking the second-straight year that the Titans have had two players with at least 100 assists after Vaughn (116) and Perry Webster (100) accomplished the feat in 2011-12. It is a rare sight in Titans men's basketball lore as Cal State Fullerton has had two players with more than 100 assists in the same season only three times dating back to 1972-73, with the only other occurance coming during the 1977-78 season with Mike Linden (204) and Keith Anderson (132) teaming up to share the rock.

MINUTE MEN: With the Titans' regular rotation down to just seven players, Cal State Fullerton's senior backcourt duo of Kwame Vaughn and D.J. Seeley, along with senior Sammy Yeager and sophomore Alex Harris, have had to log a lot of minutes as of late. Vaughn, who has played at least 35 minutes in 17 of the team's 28 games overall (including 12 of the last 18), enters the night ranked atop the league at 34.2 mpg while Seeley, who has 11 games of 35 minutes or more -- and has reached that mark in eight of his last 14 -- is sixth at 32.8 mpg. Harris, who played in a career-high 38 minutes in Corpus Christi, is ninth in the league at 31.9 mpg while Yeager is 10th in the conference at 31.8 mpg. 

SEELEY ONE OF SCHOOL'S TOP THIEVES: Thanks to his two steals on Feb. 23 at Texas A&M-Corpus Christi, senior D.J. Seeley, who shares the top spot in the Big West at 2.0 spg, became only the 15th player in the history of the program to log 100 steals for a  career and the first to break into the top 15 since Frank Robinson (2005-08) finished with 122 (No. 10 overall) in 2008. Seeley's 56 steals this season also has him among the program's top 10 for a single campaign, breaking a tie with Wayne Williams (1989-90) for eighth and standing just one back of Chris Dade (1997-98) for seventh and five shy of Leon Wood (1982-83) and Tony Neal (1981-82) for a spot in the top five.

TWENTY-POINT TIDBITS: Seeley ranks second in the Big West with 11 games of 20-points or more while Vaughn is tied for third with 10... Seeley leads all active players with 24 career 20-point games with Vaughn close behind in second with 19 in two seasons... the duo stands among a select group of six active Big West players with 10-or-more 20-point games for their careers (UC Davis' Corey Hawkins, Cal State Northridge's Stephan Hicks, UC Irvine's Daman Starring, and Hawaii's Christian Standhardinger)... last season, Fullerton was 17-5 when either Seeley (10-3) or Vaughn (7-2) scored at least 20 points, but the Titans are just 8-7 when that occurs in 2012-13. The duo has reached 20 points in the same game 14 times during their Fullerton careers (eight of those coming last season and six times this year), posting an 9-5 mark in those contests (6-1 at home, 3-3 on the road, and 0-1 on a neutral floor).

EIGHT(Y) IS GREAT(Y)...: What a difference a point makes. Cal State Fullerton is a stellar 8-2 this season when scoring at least 80 points this season compared to just 6-12 when scoring 79 points or fewer.

...AND NINETY IS NICE...: Fullerton's 95 points in its win at UC Davis on Jan. 24 marked the sixth time in 14 victories this season that the Titans have eclipsed the 90-point plateau. Fullerton, which reached 90 points six times in 31 games combined last season, is averaging 86.2 ppg in its 14 victories this season while holding opponents to just 70.2 ppg in those contests.

...BUT A HUNDRED IS HEAVENLY: The Titans reached the 100-point plateau for the third time this season with their 105 points against the Cal State Northridge on Jan. 5 -- the first time that Fullerton has surpassed the 100-point plateau three times in a single-season since the 2006-07 campaign when the Titans reached the century mark four times against Cal Maritime (W, 108-56), Eastern Washington (L, 110-100), San Jose State (W, 104-77), and Pacific (W, 100-92 in 2OT).
