Fullerton, Calif. - Cal State Fullerton Athletics Director Brian Quinn has announced the appointment of five new assistant coaches for a variety of sports as well as the resignation of Pamela Jones-Tintle, for the past eight years the school's senior director of development, student affairs and intercollegiate athletics.

Former Titans Mike Kirby and Kirk Saarloos officially have been added to the staff of new Head Baseball Coach Rick Vanderhook. Mike Gee joins the women's volleyball program, Monica Quan joins the women's basketball program and Sara Pickering moves from a volunteer to a paid position with the softball team.

Jones-Tintle will become the major gifts officer at Pitzer College in Claremont in mid-August.

Kirby returns to Fullerton where he assisted former Head Coaches Augie Garrido (1991-96) and George Horton (1997-99) in a variety of roles. He earned his bachelors degree from CSF in 1994. He worked 9 years in sales for the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim before returning to a coaching career -- 2008 at UNLV and the past three seasons under Horton at Oregon.

Saarloos will become the pitching coach after a one-year stint as an undergraduate assistant in 2011 for former Titan Head Coach Dave Serrano. Saarloos pitched in more games (124) than any other Titan during a brilliant collegiate career (1998-2001) that was climaxed by All-American honors after a 15-2 season as a starter in 2001. He went on to play parts of seven seasons in the major leagues and came back to earn his bachelors degree in 2011.

McGee joins the defending Big West Conference championship volleyball program as second assistant after three highly successful years as head coach at Bishop O'Dowd High School in Oakland. His teams went undefeated all three years in league play with an overall record of 99-27 and a post-season mark of 21-3. The Contra Costa Times selected him East Bay Coach of the Year for 2009-10. A 2008 graduate of UC Berkeley, Gee has worked with the Golden Bear Volleyball Club since 2003. He also was an assistant coach at Miramonte High School in Orinda, Californa.

Quan comes to Fullerton from Cal Lutheran, where she was an assistant to Coach Roy Dow the past two seasons. She previously was a graduate assistant at her alma mater, Concordia of Irvine, from 2007-09, and an assistant at Diamond Bar High School in 2009. She played at both Long Beach State and Concordia after a prep career at Walnut High School.

Pickering assumes a paying position after one year as a volunteer for Head Coach Michelle Gromacki. She previously was an assistant for two years at Florida State (2009-10) and for five years at both UNLV and Stanford. As a player, Pickering was the first two-time, first-team All-American in the history of the Washington (class of 2008) program, starting every game at second base during her four-year career from 1994-97 - a span of 271 games. A three-time team co-captain, she helped lead the Huskies to their first Pacific-10 Conference title in 1996 and left the program with 15 records to her name, including an NCAA record 91 career doubles. She also played in the Women's Professional Softball League (WPSL) with the Virginia Roadsters and Arizona Heat.
