A speedster who is again ready to battle for a starting spot in
the outfield with a wealth of Titan outfielders Showed
improvement last year both offesively and defensively and was used
in a platooning role in the outfield after being used primarily as
a pinch runner his freshman year.

Started a career-high 23 games, including 12 of the last 13 down
the stretch in the outfield last season, splitting the time between
center and right field Was third on the team with a .420
on-base percentage Had six multi-hit games, four with two
hits and two with three hits (Jan. 30 vs. Stanford and June 6 vs.
Pepperdine) Finished 2004 by hitting safely in 11 out of 12

Appeared in more games off the bench (28) than any other Titan

primarily as a pinch-runner (he scored 13 runs) Picked up
his only hit - a pinch-hit single to right field - in the eighth
inning of a 13-2 win over UCLA at Goodwin Field on April 15.

Prepped at Rancho Buena Vista H.S. in Vista, Calif., also the
alma mater of former Titan Chris Stringfellow (`99-02)
Earned a pair of varsity letters as an outfielder for Coach Steve
Hargrave Earned first-team All-Palomar League and
second-team All-CIF honors as a senior, when he batted .429,
knocked in 21 runs and scored 45 while helping the Longhorns to a
30-4 overall record and CIF and state championships Also
drew 24 walks in just over 130 plate appearances to round out his
on-base percentage at .541 The speedster set a single-season
school record with his 34 stolen bases and is also the career
record holder with 53 Batted .278 as a junior Also a
second-team all-league pick in football.
