Costa returns to the Cal State Fullerton program for the
2012-13 season as an undergraduate assistant coach • Costa
batted .372 over his 3-year (2001-03) Titan career capped by Big
West Conference player of the year honors in 2003 • He spent
parts of the 2005, 2006 and 2007 seasons with the Royals, who
drafted him in the second round after his junior season, and
compiled a career batting average of .254 in 154 games with 5 home
runs and 42 RBI • Costa was a two-time (2002 & 2003)
first-team All-Big West selection • In 2002 he batted a
team-leading .365 with 4 home runs and team-best totals of 23
doubles, 40 RBI and 55 runs • In 2003 he was second on the
team with a .374 average with 5 home runs, a team-best 59 RBI and
28 doubles, one shy of the school record • Costa's 63 career
doubles are tied for second in CSF history while he is alone in
second with 57 hit by pitch.
