Titans Drop Final Midweek Game at UCLA

LOS ANGELES – Cal State Fullerton baseball dropped its final midweek game of the season to UCLA Tuesday night at Jackie Robinson Stadium by a final score of 10-2. The Titans are now 28-16 on the year.

UCLA jumped out to a commanding 6-0 lead in the bottom of the third inning. After already scoring two runs the Bruins hit a grand slam with two outs to extend their lead.

Fullerton immediately responded, breaking up a no-hitter in the fourth inning on a solo home run by Moises Guzman for his second of the season.

Following a Caden Connor double and a Nate Nankil walk, Zach Lew hit an RBI single to right field to make it a 6-2 game.

The Titans were unable to get much going outside of the fourth inning, with all three hits coming in the fourth.

UCLA added one run in the fifth and three runs in the sixth inning to extend its lead to 10-2.

Jason Blood got the start for the Titans and allowed five earned runs on five hits while striking out one batter. Blood is now 1-3 on the year.

The Titans look to bounce back this weekend as they return to Big West play against UC San Diego at Goodwin Field. Game one of the three-game series is Friday night at 6:00 p.m. PT.
