NORTHRIDGE, Calif. – Cal State Fullerton baseball dropped game one at CSUN Friday afternoon by a final score of 11-4. The Titans are now 24-13 and 15-4 in Big West play.
The Titans fell behind early as CSUN scored one run in the first inning and six runs in the second to take a commanding 7-0 lead. The Matadors hit a grand slam in the second inning to extend the lead to 7-0.
Fullerton got one run back in the top of the fourth inning on a sacrifice fly by Zach Lew to drive in Moises Guzman and make it a 7-1 game.
Cole Urman led-off the seventh inning with a solo home run to left field to make it a 7-2 game. It is Urman's second home run of the season.

CSUN quickly responded with two runs in the bottom half of the seventh inning on a two-run home run to regain a seven run lead, 9-2.
The Titans kept fighting, scoring two runs in the eighth inning on an RBI double by Lew and a sacrifice fly by Caden Connor to make it a 9-4 game.

The Matadors responded once again, getting two runs across in the home half of the eighth to go up 11-4.
Tyler Stultz got the loss for the Titans to drop to 5-3 on the year after giving up seven earned runs on seven hits in six innings of work. Stultz walked three batters and struckout out six.
Lucas Braun earned the win for CSUN to improve to 4-4 on the year. Braun pitched seven innings, allowing two earned runs on five hits while walking three and striking out six.
The Titans look to even up the series Saturday afternoon in game two against CSUN at Matador Field. First pitch is scheduled for 2:00 p.m. PT.
