DAVIS, Calif. – Cal State Fullerton baseball clinched the series victory over UC Davis with a 6-4 win Saturday afternoon at Dobbins Stadium. With the win the Titans improve to 10-8 and 4-1 in Big West play.
After four and a half innings, UC Davis broke the tie game with two runs in the bottom of the fifth inning.
As they have all year, the Titans immediately respond with four runs in the top of the sixth inning. With runners on first and second, Nate Nankil came up in a big spot with a double to center field to drive in Eli Lopez from second base.
Carter White then reached safely on an RBI fielder's choice to bring home Jack Haley from third. Following a Zach Lew walk, Moises Guzman hit a single to center field to score White while Lew was able to get home on an error by the center fielder to put the Titans up 4-2.
The Aggies came back to score two runs in the bottom half of the seventh inning to tie the game at 4-4. Fullerton limited the damage after UC Davis had the bases loaded with just one out.
The Titans once again responded to take the lead in the eighth inning on an RBI double off the wall in right center field by Caden Connor to bring home White from second base. With the bases loaded Brendan Bobo was hit by a pitch to drive in Lew and put the Titans up 6-4.
All six hits in the game came from different Titans along with each RBI coming from a different player.
