FULLERTON, Calif. – Cal State Fullerton baseball dropped game two of its series to Texas by a final score of 4-2 Saturday evening at Goodwin Field. The Titans are now 3-5 on the season.
The Titans fell behind 2-0 in the top of the first inning on solo home runs by Dylan Campbell and Porter Brown.
Fullerton responded in the bottom half of the inning as Nate Nankil hit an RBI double to left field to bring home Zach Lew and cut the deficit in half.

Texas (4-6) would go on to score one run in the second and one in the fourth inning to take a 4-1 lead.
Jack Haley was able to plate one more run for the Titans in the bottom of the seventh, scoring from third on a wild pitch. Fullerton had its chances to tie the game up but came up short late in the contest, leaving nine runners on base.
Trevor Hinkel (0-2) got the start for the Titans and drew the loss after giving up four earned runs on five hits in five innings of work. Hinkel walked three and struck out seven batters.
Peyton Jones had a strong outing in relief for Fullerton, tossing three no-hit innings while walking two and striking out four.

Zane Morehouse (2-0) earned the win for Texas after giving up one earned run on four hits in five innings pitched while walking three batters and striking out five. Charlie Hurley earned his first save of the season for the Longhorns after pitching four innings of relief and giving up one earned run on four hits.
The Titans look to bounce back Sunday against Texas and secure the series victory at Goodwin Field. First pitch is set for 12:00 p.m. PT.
