Fullerton Drops Game Two at Long Beach, 4-3

LONG BEACH, Calif. – Cal State Fullerton baseball dropped game two of its series to Long Beach by a final score of 4-3 Saturday afternoon at Blair Field. The Titans are now 19-32 and 11-15 in Big West play. 

Fullerton took an early 1-0 lead in the top of the first inning on an RBI single by Austin Schell to drive in Caden Connor from second base. 

The Titans added to their lead in the top half of the third inning on an RBI single by Zach Lew that scored Connor and put the Titans up 2-0. Connor went 3-for-4 on the day with two runs. 

Long Beach scored one run in the bottom of the third inning to make it a one-run game. The Titans would answer with one in the fifth on a sac fly by Scehll for his second RBI of the game. 

The Dirtbags responded with a run in the bottom half of the fifth inning before plating two in the sixth inning to take the lead. 

Evan Yates had a strong start for the Titans, pitching five innings, allowing just two earned runs on six hits while striking out two and walking one. 

Fullerton looks to avoid the series sweep Sunday afternoon in game three of the series at Blair Field. First pitch is set for 1:00 p.m.
