Baseball Drops Series Finale in Extra Innings at UC San Diego

LA JOLLA, Calif. – Cal State Fullerton baseball lost to UC San Diego in the series finale Sunday afternoon by a final score of 6-4 in the 10th inning. The Titans are now 18-27 and 11-10 in conference play.

UC San Diego took the lead in the bottom half of the fourth inning on an RBI double by Blake FitzGerald. The Titans immediately responded with two runs in the top of the fifth inning on an RBI single by Nate Nankil and a perfect sacrifice bunt by Cole Urman

The Titans took the lead in the top of the sixth inning on a two-run triple by JT Navyac. The sophomore now has three triples in the last six games. UC San Diego came back to tie the game in the bottom half of the sixth.

UC San Diego walked it off in the 10th inning on a two-run home run by Crew Robinson. 

Fynn Chester got his third start of the season and pitched four innings, allowing just one earned run on five hits while walking one and striking out a pair. 

Cal State Fullerton returns home to Goodwin Field for a midweek matchup with No. 8 UCLA. First pitch is set for 6:00 p.m.
