HONOLULU – Cal State Fullerton baseball defeated Hawai'i in its series-opener Friday night at Les Murakami Stadium by a final score of 7-0. The Titans improve to 17-22 on the year and 10-6 in conference play.
The Titans got off to a great start, scoring three runs in the top half of the second inning. With the bases loaded and two outs, Zach Lew drew a five pitch walk to bring home Cole Urman and get the Titans on the board. One batter later, Austin Schell doubled to right field to score Jack Haley and Caden Conner to make it a 3-0 game.

Fullerton added one run in the top of the third inning on a bunt single by Urman to bring home Jason Brandow and extend the Titans lead to 4-0.

The Titans added two more runs in the top of the sixth inning on a sacrifice fly by Jackson Lyon and a sacrifice bunt by Carter White to build a 6-0 lead. Fullerton extended its lead to 7-0 in the seventh inning on an RBI single by Connor to bring home Haley.

Tyler Stultz had another quality start for the Titans, pitching seven shutout innings while allowing just five hits. Stultz earned the win to improve to 4-2 on the year.
The Titans are back in action Saturday night for game two of their series against Hawai'i. First pitch is set for 9:35 p.m. PT.
