Baseball Loses to LMU at Goodwin Field

FULLERTON, Calif.  – Cal State Fullerton baseball lost to LMU, 8-2, Saturday night at Goodwin Field. The Titans are now 3-10 on the year. 

Christian Rodriguez got the start on the mound and went six innings, giving up three runs on five hits while striking out a career-high 10 batters. Rodriguez is now 0-2 in four starts this year. 

Matt McClure earned the win for LMU after pitching seven innings, allowing two earned runs on six hits while striking out four and walking two. McClure improves to 2-2. 

LMU took an early lead, scoring one run in the top of the first inning. The Titans tied the game in the third on a sacrifice fly by Jack Haley to score Nate Nankil

With the Titans trailing 3-1, Jason Brandow crushed a solo home run, his third of the year. Brandow has hit all three in the last four games. 

The Lions extended their lead in the eighth inning, scoring five runs on four hits to blow the game open.

Fullerton looks to respond and secure the series victory Sunday afternoon against LMU. First pitch is set for 1:00 p.m. PT.
