FULLERTON, Calif. – Cal State Fullerton baseball (2-5) scored three runs in the eighth inning to comeback and defeat Kansas State (1-6) Tuesday night at Goodwin Field by a final score of 7-5.

The Titans trailed 5-4 in the bottom of the eighth inning. Nate Nankil led-off the inning with a triple to left center to get the Titans offensive going. Two batters later, Jack Haley tripled to right field to score Nankil and tie the game at 5-5.

With Caden Connor at the plate, Haley scored the go-ahead run on a passed ball to put Fullerton up 6-5. Connor then hit a triple to left field and scored on an error by Kansas State to extend the lead to 7-5.

Michael Weisberg shut the door on Kansas State in the top of the ninth inning, getting three quick outs to end the game and earn the win, his first of the season and fourth of his career.

Fullerton went up 4-0 on the Wildcats after scoring one run in the first inning, two in the second and one in the fifth. The Titans scored in the first inning on an RBI single by Deylan Pigford to bring home Connor.
Connor had a strong game at the plate for the Titans, going 2-for-4 with three runs, an RBI and a walk while hitting his first career triple. Haley had his best game as a Titan, going 2-for-4 with a run, an RBI and a walk.
In the second inning, Austin Schell singled to center field to drive in Damone Hale and put the Titans up 2-0 before an RBI single by Zach Lew scored Connor to extend the lead to 3-0. Fullerton went up 4-0 in the fifth on a sacrifice fly to score Lew.

The Titans look to carry their momentum from the comeback win into this weekend's series against Pepperdine at Goodwin Field beginning Friday at 7:00 p.m.
