Baseball Adds Josh Belovsky to Coaching Staff

FULLERTON, Calif. – Cal State Fullerton and Head Coach Jason Dietrich have announced the hiring of Josh Belovsky as assistant coach.

"I would like to thank coach Dietrich and the whole Titan family for giving me this opportunity. Growing up in Orange County, Cal State Fullerton Baseball has always been a very special place in my eyes. I am honored and humbled to be a part of this historic program and I am excited in assisting coach Dietrich with his vision of getting the program back to prominence," Belovsky said. "I received my B.S. in Kinesiology from CSF and have scouted and signed many Titans. I know firsthand what kind of players and people this program produces. I cannot wait to get started and put on that Titan uniform. Go Titans!"

Belovsky joins the Titans after serving as the West Coast Regional Supervisor for the Milwaukee Brewers over the past six years.

"It's a great day to be a Titan! The Titans got better today with the hiring of Josh Belovsky as our assistant coach and recruiting coordinator. Josh has over 23 years of college coaching and professional scouting experience," Dietrich said. "He has built up a great reputation in the baseball community as a great evaluator of talent but also as a man of respect and integrity. He was very influential with the Milwaukee Brewers when they drafted former Titans Khris Davis, Eric Komatsu, Nick Ramirez, Joe Scott and Scott Serigstad. He is from Southern California and has scouted a lot of games in the stands at Goodwin Field but now we get to have him in our dugout. Let's welcome Josh, his wife Sara, his daughter Lili and his son Luke to the Titans family."

Belovsky, a graduate of Cal State Fullerton, started his professional scouting career with the Colorado Rockies organization as an associate scout before joining the Brewers in 2006 as the Southern California and Hawaii area scout. In 2016 he was named West Coast Regional Supervisor.

During his time as a scout on the West Coast, Belovsky has scouted, drafted and worked with several Titans. Eric Komatsu, Khris Davis, Nick Ramirez, Joe Scott and Scott Serigstad were all drafted by the Brewers while Belovsky was with the organization.

While with the Brewers, Belovsky also served as the head coach for the Area Code team, Underclass Area Code team and Brewers Elite Scout team. While serving as the manager he coached over 85 MLB players including all-stars Nolan Arenado, Christian Yelich, Gerritt Cole and Joc Pederson. He also coached several Titans such as Phil Bickford, Justin Garza, Scott Hurst, A.J. Kennedy, Carlos Lopez, Michael Lorenzen and Tyler Pill.

Belovsky got his coaching start at Cypress College in 2001 where he served as the pitching coach and recruiter. He then made his way to Orange Coast College where he was also the pitching coach and recruiting coordinator from 2002-2006 and was named the associate head coach in 2005.

The Southern California native started his collegiate baseball career at Cypress College before playing at Texas Tech and the University of Kansas. Belovsky went on to play four years of professional baseball including a stint in A and AA with the Boston Red Sox organization.
