FULLERTON, Calif. – Right-handed pitcher Tanner Bibee was selected by the Cleveland Indians in the fifth round of the MLB Draft Monday afternoon. 

Bibee, the 156th overall pick, continues the long history of Titans being taken in the MLB Draft. The program has now had at least one player taken in the draft for 46 consecutive seasons. Bibee became the 309th Titan drafted since 1968. 

The Mission Viejo native had another strong season as the Titans ace in 2021, finishing the year with a 3.61 ERA with 67 strikeouts and a 7-6 record. Bibee had his best outing of the season against USC where he pitched a complete game shutout while allowing three hits, striking out five and not allowing a single walk on just 88 pitches. Over his four seasons at Cal State Fullerton, Bibee had a 3.82 ERA and 236 strikeouts.
